Yes it's our intrepid photographer and YES people it IS a 153!!! If we don't get this closed we ain't going anywhere Ladies and Gents..... Get you bloody face out of the way there's a train to shoot! Just what you need....line the shot up and this happens! This photo sums up what is positive about joined up modern rail logisitics. Brillinat restaurant right on the track. We had 6 freights pass whilst we ate. These locos are big. Look at the guy standing nest to front bogie. AC4400 9727 heads another 3 in consist and 160 potash hoopers loaded through Banff. The earth literally shakes...you should see the video! AC4400 9727 heads westbound loaded potash. A mere 160 wagons and 15000 tons in tow. I know it's been said a million times before but....'TOTALLY AWESOME!' AC4400s 9727 9518 power westbound off Morrant's curve with a Canpotex potash train GP38-2 3112 at Exshaw cement works. The cement appeared to be being tripped to Alyth yrad Calgary by pairs of GP38s when we were there. Monster Leaser SD90MAC CEFX 132 is dragged into depot by pilot GP9 1636 Alyth Yard Calgary Odd lookin ex UP switcher at back of Alyth depot SOO lines (part of CP) SD40-2 757 lies stored 'surplus' in Alsthom's Alyth yard. Different spec to CP locos seen elsewhere . No Dynamic brake and horns/lights more US in position. Old Pacman liveried GP38 off the local Exshaw cement way freight THE RAT! The last Grid I ever saw on an MGR in the last month of 56 operation. 56117 southbound out of |Toton yard towards a Trent valley power station. 56018 on the shortlived ASDA trip from Grangemouth to Mossend Not the greatest picture but the bottom of my garden at previous house and the reason my passion for rail was rekindled 56095 powers northbound at Stenson Jn with Wolverhampton - Aldwarke steel 56096 sits in sun at Knottingley OK THE WORST photo BUT it was dark. The digital camera masks the fact that you could barely see! it was a Sunday and it was the LAST 56 into Longannet I reckon. The odd Millerhill sunday MGR found no shed available and 120 came to the rescue. Date line is that the track has been replaced by CWR and those that can remember when that happened will know when this was?!
